Christa has been in the veterinary field since 2006. Her love and care of animals began on the family farm leading to a career as an Animal Care Specialist in the U.S. Army; where she honed her animal care skills earning an Army Achievement Medal for the overreaching display of care and revitalization of animals. Christa also worked with Oklahoma State University conducting research on military working dogs of the Naval Research center, traveling to Alaska and conducting research not only on the working dogs of the military, but the elite sled dogs of Alaska. She has experience as a head surgery assistant for 8 years. Surgery is Christa’s passion and she currently leads surgery at Cape Fear since 2017. She is not only a mom of 3 two-legged children, but also a mom to 3 pups and 1 kitty.
